If you're a Civil Surveyor who likes being close to the action and having real ownership of a project, this is worth a look.

Our client is a well-established South Auckland civil and earthmoving contractor delivering large-scale subdivision projects across Papakura and Franklin. Bulk earthworks, roading, three waters and everything that comes with getting a development built properly.

Survey is kept in-house, and that's important.

You're part of the project team from the start, not someone brought in to set out a few points and move on.

Why this one is different
Each project has its own management and survey team.

You're not bouncing between five sites every week. You'll have a project to own, working alongside the site team from the first cut through to completion and as-builts.

You'll be involved in:

• Reviewing designs before construction starts
  
  
• Setting out earthworks, roads and services
  
  
• Completing construction surveys and as-builts
  
  
• Working closely with site management and the construction crew
  
  
• Preparing your own monthly claims
  
  
• Helping keep the project on programme and to specification
  
  

Survey isn't treated as a service sitting on the side of the project. It's part of how the job gets built.

The setup
You'll have good equipment and a modern survey setup, including:

• Leica GPS and total stations
  
  
• Drainage and rotating lasers
  
  
• Machine control across the earthmoving fleet
  
  
• AutoCAD Civil 3D
  
  
• A survey manager who supports you without micromanaging you
  
  

What we're looking for
You don't need to have led an entire project before.

You could be an experienced Civil Surveyor ready to take more ownership, or someone already running the survey side of projects independently.

You'll ideally have:

• Solid civil or engineering surveying experience
  
  
• Leica experience
  
  
• AutoCAD Civil 3D experience
  
  
• The ability to manage your own workload
  
  
• Good communication with site teams and project management
  
  
• A practical, team-first approach
  
  
• A current NZ driver's licence
  
  
• The right to work in New Zealand
  
  

*** Most Saturdays are half days, so you'll need to be comfortable with that.
