Our client is a well-established multidisciplinary consultancy with offices throughout the South Island. Originally a family-run business, they have retained a practical, people-first approach to work, with collaborative teams, strong technical capability and a genuine focus on getting the job done without burning people out.

With the Christchurch team continuing to grow, they are looking for a Land Surveyor to join the team.

Why this role?
You will work across a broad range of land development and infrastructure projects, including subdivisions, civil works and everything in between. Rather than being pigeonholed into one area, you will have the opportunity to build experience across the full surveying lifecycle.

You will take ownership of projects at a level that matches your experience, with an experienced Licensed Cadastral Surveyor providing technical review, guidance and support.

If becoming licensed is part of your career plan, you will be actively supported along the way. And if you're a recent graduate, you'll receive genuine mentoring and development rather than simply being handed a pole and left to figure it out.

The work

• Topographical, setting out, cadastral, UAV, hydrographic and 3D laser scanning surveys
  
  
• Land development and infrastructure projects across Canterbury
  
  
• Working alongside surveyors, planners and engineers within a multidisciplinary team
  
  
• Managing your own projects as your experience develops
  
  
• Technical support and review from experienced surveyors
  
  
• Ongoing professional development, mentoring and licensing support
  
  

What we're looking for

• A Bachelor of Surveying or a Graduate Diploma in Surveying with 2–5 years' relevant NZ experience
  
  
• An interest in land development and infrastructure
  
  
• Strong communication skills and sound professional judgement
  
  
• A practical, considered approach to problem-solving
  
  
• 12d Model experience is advantageous, although training can be provided
  
  
• Currently living in New Zealand with the legal right to work here
