Lead Data Consultant | Senior Level We are looking for an experienced Lead Data Consultant/ Senior Data Engineer to join a forward-thinking data and analytics consultancy based in Auckland. This opportunity for someone who thrives in a client-facing environment, loves solving complex data problems, and is energised by working on modern cloud data platforms.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead multiple client engagements simultaneously, acting as the senior technical point of contact.
- Design and deliver modern cloud data solutions, with a focus on Snowflake and the surrounding modern data stack.
- Engage consultatively with clients on topics including branching strategies, dbt mesh, data modelling, and data engineering best practices.
- Mentor and uplift intermediate consultants, fostering a culture of learning and continuous improvement.
- Work collaboratively with client teams to understand business problems and translate them into scalable data solutions.
- Contribute to pre-sales and solution scoping conversations, helping prospects understand value and approach.
Key tools:- Snowflake (primary tool)
- dbt and Coalesce (highly desired)
- Databricks (valuable but not essential)

- A problem-solver who can navigate ambiguity with clients and turn complexity into clear solutions.
- Hands-on experience with modern cloud data stack environments
- Comfortable discussing data engineering concepts - branching strategies, dbt, ELT patterns, platform architecture - with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- A learning mindset above all else.
