Contract Workday Functional Lead

About the role:
We are seeking experienced Workday Functional Leads / Consultants to lead the end-to-end implementation of Workday HR modules in a large public sector organisation in Auckland. As a key member of the people systems team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful deployment, optimisation, and integration of Workday. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the planning, configuration, and implementation of Workday HR modules, ensuring they align with organisational goals
  • Collaborate closely with stakeholders to gather requirements, analyse business needs, and translate them into effective Workday solutions.
  • Provide expert guidance on Workday functionality, best practices, and system optimisations.
  • Manage project timelines, resources, and deliverables to ensure timely and successful implementation.
  • Conduct system testing, troubleshoot issues, and oversee post-implementation support and maintenance.
Key Requirements:
  • Senior level experience with HRIS implementation, with at least 3 years of hands-on experience in implementing Workday HR modules.
  • Workday certifications highly advantageous 
  • Project Management Certification (PMP, PRINCE2, or similar) 
  • Strong knowledge of HRIS systems, particularly Workday, and related technologies.
  • Proven leadership experience in leading complex projects and cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to analyse complex business requirements and translate them into practical solutions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities to address system and process issues effectively.
