Non-Negotiables
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in health and safety or related discipline.
  • Minimum of 6 years’ practical experience, preferably in local government or complex operational environments.
  • Demonstrated expertise in the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015 (HSWA) and related legislation.
  • Proven experience developing, implementing, and auditing health and safety management systems.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence across an organisation.
  • Full, clean driver’s license.
Desirables
  • Membership in NZISM or equivalent professional body.
  • Experience in business continuity planning and emergency response.
  • Track record in fostering organisational culture change and health & safety engagement.
  • Experience working with iwi, mana whenua, and in culturally sensitive contexts.
  • Project management or risk management qualifications.
