Giftbox Boutique are a genuine kiwi success story based in Whangarei.  After just eight years, they are enjoying massive growth and are looking to continue that trajectory.  The hard-working owners, who have been grafting away, are now looking for an Operations Manager to take on a pivotal leadership role in the day to day running of the business to free them up to focus on business strategy and growth but more importantly - family time.

The Role

• Lead a passionate team of 18 in a variety of roles across the business driving a culture of accountability by running 360 reviews, developing skills and walking the talk;
• P&L management – growing profit, managing costs, and effective stock management (circa 270 SKUs);
• Involvement in new product development – ensuring the best product range for our customers and that staff have the best product knowledge;
• Formulating strategy and business planning in conjunction with the very hands-on business owners;
• Successful marketing and sales planning and execution – delivering exceptional customer experience and driving brand awareness as a strategy over a “deals, deals, deals” mentality;
• Continuous improvement focus – to build the best brand in the business, drive operational efficiency and be an employer of choice;
• Exceptional communication skills are a must– the owners have put everything into this business to create success and run a no surprises policy – you should too!

Ideal Candidate Profile

 

• An experienced, effective leader who cares about their people.  You will have managed people from multiple business functions;
• Demonstrates prior success in generalist business management – effective P&L oversight, growth strategy execution, project management;
• Has examples of previous business improvement – product review/development, operational efficiency, cost reduction, value add to customers and team;
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills as well as a high level of financial literacy.

Desirable experience

• Implementation of robust HR processes and policy;
• Exposure to M&A processes – acquisitions will form part of the future growth strategy;
• Previous ecommerce experience and exposure to Unleashed inventory management software is helpful but not essential.
