Senior Business Analyst 

A large, nationally significant digital health programme is seeking a Senior Business Analyst - Techinical / Integration to support the delivery of a shared clinical data service. The programme is building a secure, future-focused platform using API-based integration to enable safe and timely access to health information across the sector.

This role is ideal for a Technical Business Analyst who can confidently translate business needs into technically sound requirements for a complex integration programme delivering new APIs.
You will work closely with business stakeholders, architects, vendors, and development teams to ensure requirements are clear, feasible, and future-ready.

Key responsibilities:
  • Translate business requirements into clear solution and technical requirements
  • Work with development teams to understand existing solutions and integration patterns
  • Support API and data service design, acceptance criteria, and scope management
  • Identify gaps in requirements and solution design through experience and intuition
Key qualities:
  • Proactive in checking scope and identifying risks early
  • Highly self-directed and comfortable working in ambiguity
  • Strong intuition for integration and data service delivery
Experience valued:
  • Integration projects and API-driven service delivery
  • FHIR experience (useful but not mandatory)
  • Exposure to cybersecurity, privacy, or identity integration initiatives (desirable)

  • Confidence articulating what is known and not known in both requirements and current solutions
  • Strong self-direction; asks “why”, seeks clarity, and learns quickly
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfortable working to deadlines and estimating analysis effort
Location:
Wellington preferred; remote considered for the right candidate. Occasional travel may be required to Wellington.
