Senior Leadership - Licensed Cadastral Surveyor
Job description
Licensed Cadastral Surveyor – Auckland
Complex projects, senior influence, and balance in New Zealand’s largest market.
Auckland is where scale, complexity, and opportunity come together. If you are a highly experienced Licensed Cadastral Surveyor with a strong land development background, this is an opportunity to play a senior technical role on some of the country’s most significant projects, without being boxed into a traditional Survey Manager position.
We are working with a well established multi discipline consultancy and specialist surveying firms across NZ. These Auckland based role suits senior LCSs who want to remain hands on technically, provide leadership and mentoring, and be trusted advisors to clients, while maintaining balance and long term career clarity.
About the Role:
You will work across complex land development, urban regeneration, and infrastructure projects, providing high level cadastral oversight and technical leadership from early project stages through to delivery.
These consultancy's teams are investing heavily in modern survey workflows and digital capability. You will be supported by strong internal leadership structures, with an existing Survey Manager helping you progress into that role, allowing this position to focus on senior technical contribution rather than day to day people management.
• Lead and oversee cadastral delivery on complex land development projects
• Provide technical leadership and support to the wider team, including those working toward LCS registration
• Front clients, developers, and consultants as a trusted technical advisor
• Contribute to standards, workflows, and best practice across the business
• Work with modern tools and systems including 12d, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Leica, Trimble, and digital collaboration platforms
There is also scope for experienced Survey Managers who may be looking to step away from full management responsibilities and move into a NZ wide Lead Technical role, supporting large projects and providing specialist cadastral advice across the business.
About You
• Licensed Cadastral Surveyor with 10+ years’ New Zealand land development experience
• Strong technical grounding in cadastral surveying and subdivision delivery
• Confident dealing directly with clients, councils, and project stakeholders
• Respected for sound judgement, practical decision making, and mentoring capability
• Comfortable providing leadership without requiring a formal management title
• NZ citizen or resident with a full NZ driver’s licence
What’s in it for You
• Senior LCS salary range aligned to experience and influence
• Opportunity to focus on technical leadership rather than pure management
• Complex, meaningful projects with long term visibility
• Supportive, people first culture with no red tape
• Flexibility, professional development, and long term career stability
Why Auckland?
Auckland offers unmatched project scale alongside genuine lifestyle options. From major urban developments and infrastructure projects to beaches, regional parks, and coastal communities, the variety is hard to beat.
Whether you are progressing your career locally or returning to Auckland after time elsewhere, this is an opportunity to work at the top end of the market while maintaining balance outside of work.
