Salary - $140,000 - $160,000

My Client is a New Zealand owned and operated specialist project advisory consultancy that’s been working to optimise Kiwi infrastructure for over a decade. They work closely in partnership with every client, providing access to experienced, senior people from day one. The Opportunity:

My client is seeking a highly experienced and driven Senior Project Manager to join a young, dynamic Project Management Delivery: Infrastructure / Horizontal team in Wellington. In this role, you will be responsible for managing projects, clients, and people, ensuring high-quality delivery and client satisfaction. You will also actively contribute to the leadership and development of our teams, providing clear direction and fostering a supportive environment.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage project teams, ensuring the delivery of projects on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Provide technical expertise and mentorship to team members, promoting professional growth and development.
  • Actively engage with clients, understanding their needs and objectives, and maintaining strong relationships.
  • Prepare and present technical papers at industry events, showcasing Frequency's expertise.
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety obligations and company policies.
  • Develop and implement project management plans aligned with clients' requirements.
  • Identify, manage, and mitigate project risks to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Contribute to business development efforts, including client meetings, preparing proposals and tenders.
 
About You:
  • 10 to 15 years of relevant industry experience with a proven track record in managing infrastructure projects valued at $40 million-plus.
  • Holds relevant tertiary industry qualifications.
  • Demonstrated experience in roles such as design management, team management, or team director, with a focus on infrastructure projects.
  • Experience in water, road or rail projects is desirable.
  • Client track record / network with NZTA, Wellington Water, Kiwirail or local councils is also desired.   
  • Excellent communication skills, with a strong emphasis on effective communication and emotional intelligence (EQ).
  • Strong industry presence and a robust professional network, particularly in the Wellington region.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Strong commercial acumen, with experience in managing project financials and performance.
