Senior Surveyor / Licensed Cadastral Surveyor – Taupo

Job description

Senior Surveyor / Licensed Cadastral Surveyor – Taupō

Senior technical work, trusted relationships, and a lifestyle built around balance.
Taupō offers a unique opportunity for a Senior Surveyor, ideally a Licensed Cadastral Surveyor, to play a key role within a well established, multi disciplinary consultancy delivering land development and infrastructure projects across the central North Island.
This role suits someone who values quality delivery, strong client relationships, and long term career stability. You will be part of a locally embedded team, supported by wider surveying, engineering, and planning capability across the business.

About the Role:
You will work across a range of cadastral, land development, and infrastructure projects, providing senior technical input and supporting consistent delivery from concept through to completion.
The role is hands on and client facing, with scope to mentor junior staff and influence technical standards, without being positioned as a formal management role.
• Deliver and oversee cadastral and land development projects
• Provide senior technical guidance and mentoring to surveyors and technicians
• Work closely with clients, councils, and project stakeholders
• Collaborate with engineers, planners, and regional teams
• Maintain high technical standards and practical decision making
• Use modern survey tools including 12d, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Leica, and Trimble

About You:
• Senior Surveyor with strong New Zealand experience, ideally Licensed Cadastral Surveyor
• Proven background in land development and subdivision projects
• Confident dealing directly with clients and local authorities
• Comfortable working independently while supporting team development
• Practical, reliable, and respected for sound judgement
• NZ citizen or resident with a full NZ driver’s licence

What’s in it for You:
• Senior role within a stable, respected consultancy
• Opportunity to focus on technical delivery and client relationships
• Supportive, people first culture with minimal red tape
• Long term career security and professional development
• Competitive remuneration aligned to experience and contribution

Why Taupō?
Taupō offers an exceptional lifestyle alongside meaningful professional work. With lake access, outdoor recreation, short commutes, and a strong sense of community, it is a location where senior professionals can enjoy balance without stepping back in responsibility.
For many, Taupō represents the chance to slow the pace, stay close to nature, and still work on regionally significant land development and infrastructure projects.
