  •  Salary - $120,000 - $140,000


My client is seeking a skilled Project Manager with five to eight years' relevant New Zealand-based experience to join our vibrant team in Wellington. As a Project Manager, you will play a pivotal role in project delivery, taking ownership of key aspects of projects and engaging directly with clients.


About the Opportunity:

  • You will work a part of a small team lead by a Senior Project Manager managing the delivery of projects to fully satisfy client needs and expectations alongside our internal processes.

  • Experience in vertical build environment through design, procurement and contract management phases. 

  • Ability to manage day to day project requirements with Senior oversight as required, through clear direction, strong verbal and written communication, chairing and minuting regular meetings, encouraging and supporting the team to achieve deliverables.

  • Proactively identifies and addresses risks and issues to minimize and mitigate impact to the projects.

  • Thinks ahead and plans for the success of their project.

  • Creates and implements plans and strategies at a project level to achieve goals.

  • Manages the delivery of projects to fully satisfy client needs and expectations.

  • Proactively manages the client expectations and relationship.

  • Problem solver. 

  • Clear concise communication skills are a key requisite of the role (verbal and written). 

  • Knowledge and basic application of NZS3910/3916 contracts.  


About You:

  • Minimum 5 to 8 years’ experience of relevant New Zealand construction industry experience (project management, contracts management). 

  • Holds relevant tertiary industry qualifications.

  • Preferably experience in Education and local government sectors.

  • A team player 

  • Demonstrated experience in:

    • Managing projects within clearly defined scopes to achievable project schedules and budgets

    • Managing the demands of concurrent projects and deadlines

  • The successful applicant will enjoy working with people, building relationships through project teams and clients
