Job Overview
 
Our client is currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Assistant Warehouse Manager to support the efficient operation of its warehouse facility. The Assistant Warehouse Manager will work closely with the Warehouse Manager to oversee daily operations, maintain inventory accuracy, and ensure a safe and organised work environment. This role offers an opportunity for growth, with the potential to advance to the Warehouse Manager position.

Key Responsibilities:
 
  • Supporting the Warehouse Manager in planning, organising, and directing warehouse activities to ensure efficient operations.
  • Help maintain accurate inventory records through regular audits and cycle counts. They will coordinate with the Warehouse Manager to optimise stock levels and storage space.
  • Provide guidance and leadership to warehouse staff, including training, scheduling, and performance management. They will assist in fostering a positive work environment conducive to productivity and teamwork.
  • Identify areas for process improvement and assist in implementing solutions to streamline warehouse procedures, enhance productivity, and reduce costs.
  • Enforce safety regulations and company policies to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Collaborate with customer service and sales teams to fulfil orders accurately and efficiently. They will address any customer inquiries or issues related to warehouse operations promptly.
  • Oversee the maintenance and servicing of warehouse equipment, such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and conveyor systems.
  • Assist in maintaining accurate records of inventory, shipments, and other warehouse activities. They will generate reports as needed to track key performance indicators and monitor progress towards goals.
 
Key Candidate Requirements:
 
  • Previous experience in warehouse operations or logistics. As well as experience in supervisory or leadership roles.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and engage team members.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in warehouse operations.
  • Problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to addressing challenges.
  • Forklift certification and experience operating material handling equipment preferred.
  • Qualification in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
