Senior Strategic Planner (Remote)
Are you passionate about engaging with communities to guide long-term growth and achieve place-based community outcomes? Do you have experience in developing district-wide spatial plans, community masterplans, and placemaking strategies? If so, we have an exciting remote opportunity for you to join this Growth Planning & Placemaking team.
In this role, you will:
- Lead or collaborate on the development of place-based plans, ensuring they align with Council processes and policies.
- Identify long-term community outcomes and growth requirements.
- Develop planning scenarios that guide infrastructure needs and development contributions policies.
- Work with a proactive, future-focused team.
About You
We are looking for a candidate who:
- Has experience in best-practice methodologies for developing, implementing, and maintaining spatial plans, masterplans, or placemaking plans.
- Can demonstrate successful leadership of public, private, and iwi working groups to achieve community outcomes.
- Excels in building trusted relationships both within an organisation and externally to gain necessary support for projects.
- Is skilled in developing planning scenarios that consider demand, supply, constraints, and opportunities for medium- and long-term growth in both urban and rural areas.
- Is adept at presenting complex data clearly and simply to various audiences, using tools such as ESRI GIS, storyboards, and Microsoft Office.
