About the Role: 

This Auckland CBD based multidisciplinary consultancy is seeking a Transportation Engineering Manager to lead and grow its transportation discipline.
This is a senior, hands-on leadership role working closely with a Director to deliver complex transport outcomes for major development projects, while scaling capability, lifting technical standards, and developing people. You’ll take ownership of a geographically split team and play a key role in shaping the future direction of the transport offering as workload and demand continue to grow.
The role blends technical leadership, client engagement, people management, and strategic contribution, suited to someone who enjoys responsibility, influence, and being close to the work.

Skills & Experience:
  • Proven experience preparing Integrated Transport Assessments, including complex, large-scale private development projects
  • Strong transport modelling capability, with SIDRA expertise essential; AIMSUN experience highly regarded
  • Solid understanding of transportation engineering design principles, including Safe System and audit processes
  • Experience acting as an expert witness at hearings and Environment Court
  • High-level written and verbal communication skills, including report writing and presentations
  • Confident client-facing capability, with an appetite for identifying and pursuing new work
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and develop engineers, supported by strong EQ
